4. Male Rape Support Fund
MOJ Male Rape Support Fund
The MOJ made available funding to PCCs to deliver specialist support to men and boys who have experienced rape or sexual abuse at any point in their life. I worked collaboratively with two specialist service providers in Kent, EKRCC and Family Matters, to develop an evidence-based bid to this fund. As a result, Kent was awarded £31,504 to deliver increased capacity within the two services to support males. This funding also involved engagement and research to be undertaken with males to understand their barriers for seeking support and the services they felt they needed. This work will help inform my commissioning decisions for male support services.
