Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act gives you the right to ask the Office of the Kent Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) for information you believe we may hold.

Anyone can make a request for information – there are no restrictions on your age, nationality or where you live. Most requests are free but you might be asked to pay a small amount for photocopies or postage. You will be told if you have to pay anything.

We aim at all times to respond to FOI requests within 20 working days. This time limit starts on the day after the date of receipt.

There are however a number of exemptions to releasing information. Further details about these exemptions are available on the Information Commissioner’s Office website. The ICO is the independent authority for data rights in the UK.

To make a Freedom of Information request to the OPCC please complete the form below. Alternatively, you can email us, or write to us at The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, Kent Police HQ, Sutton Road, Maidstone, ME15 9BZ.

Please note that Kent Police has its own FoI process.
